Dentist
I qualified in 1981 from University College London and moved to Salisbury in 1983 where I have practiced since then. I ran the Estcourt Road Dental Practice which merged with Vale House Dental Practice in 2011 to form Catherine Street Dental Practice. At the same time the practice moved to Catherine Street where we share premises with the lovely people at Southern Smiles.
I enjoy being a general dental practitioner and the variety of challenges that brings. I undertake most aspects of dentistry with the exception of orthodontic cases which we refer to a local specialist practice. Since 2011 I have learned new skills with David at Southern Smiles as we have together explored the possibilities of crown, magnet, and implant supported dentures for the benefit of our patients.
Outside of dentistry I regularly go airsofting with Team Talon with my son Thomas. I enjoy cooking and recently I have been exploring preserving, curing, and smoking which explains why my fridge and freezer are full of bacon, sausages, and gammon steaks. And lard(ons), preserved lemons, smoked cheese...You get the idea. You would also notice quite a lot of beer about the place. I have made my own beer for 40+ years & my house is taken over by brewing equipment and supplies whilst my garage is mainly filled with the brewery itself. It is probably best not to talk to me about beer or brewing history—after 15 minutes most people's eyes start to glaze over in my exprience. Ask the people at North Hampshire Brewers.
But it's not all food and drink. I enjoy reading (mainly non-fiction), music (rock, classical, a bit of jazz), and making stuff (wood-working, a little metalwork, electricals).
